Mark Zuckerberg Claims Quest 3 is Superior to Apple Vision Pro in Most Aspects

Meta founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg has called the latest Apple Vision Pro an inferior product compared to his company’s Quest 3 on social media. Apple released its latest augmented reality device last month on February 2nd. The product’s top features sent shockwaves around the world.

Still, the product doesn’t seem to have managed to convince Facebook’s CEO. Responding to an Instagram Threads post that claimed Facebook’s product was still years behind Apple’s creation, Zuckerberg said Vision Pro just had a better resolution. “Their resolution is higher, but they paid for it with many other products that make their devices worse in most cases. That’s not what we’re after,” he wrote.

In the same post, Zuckerberg goes on to highlight the shortcomings of Apple’s latest product. He says, “I don’t think we’re saying our devices are the same. We’re saying the Quest is better. If our devices weigh as much as theirs in 3-5 years, or have motion blur, or lack of accurate inputs, etc., that means we have regressed significantly.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Mark Zuckerberg compare the Meta Quest 3 and the Apple Vision Pro. Last month, the Facebook founder uploaded a video to Instagram in which he presented his vision for Apple’s latest mixed reality. He highlighted several points for Facebook’s device, arguing that the Quest is better for the vast majority of people.

In the video, Zuckerberg claimed that the Quest 3 has better pass-through capture and can also have multiple windows open at once. He also focused on comfort, saying the Quest has no wires for the road and is relatively lighter.

He also talked about the Meta product having a wider field of view and brighter screens. Zuckerberg also mentioned how Apple used motion blur when people are moving, but the Quest stays sharp in such moments. He mentioned that their product has precision controls and better tracking, which allows for a more comfortable gaming experience. The Facebook CEO concluded his list by saying that a user can play Xbox games and watch YouTube natively on Quest.

Apple’s Vision Pro was launched at $3499 (Rs 2.89 lakh), while Facebook’s Meta Quest 3 is much cheaper at $499 (Rs 41,260).
